The Venetian lagoon is full of surprises, and few people realise that you can find yourself immersed in nature while having the Venetian skyline just a few kilometres away.
Within a very short of our base on the Certosa islands you can find the 16th century fortress of Sant’Andrea, orchards and small farms on Sant’Erasmo, the ancient quarantine station on Lazzaretto Novo, and marshes full of small winding canals and a plethora of birds.
Typical itinerary for a afternoon tour in the lagoon
The afternoon tour in the lagoon starts at 13:45 in the bar of the Certosa hotel, so we’re ready in our kayaks around 14:30, with a return to the Certosa around 17:30.
Half day paddling tours in the lagoon are between 8km and up to 15km. They are suitable for all paddlers.
The area reachable during a 2-2½ hour paddle from the Certosa island is approximately as indicated on this map.
Groups can be up to 6 persons. Larger groups can be arranged, but must be agreed upon well in advance, as we have to find an assistant guide for larger groups.
Private tours are available on request, if booked well in advance.
The afternoon tour in Venice is scheduled regularly from late March to late October. Outside the main season we only offer the morning tour due to the shorter daylight hours.
