Camping San Nicolò
Venice Kayak is based at the Camping San Nicolò, at the north end of the Lido di Venezia.
All trips and tours start from the Camping San Nicolò unless otherwise agreed.
The Camping
Camping San Nicolò is located at end of the Riviera San Nicolò, on the lagoon side of the Lido and very close to the water.
The camping is very small, family run, and can at most host a few hundred visitors at at time. The appearance is that of a lush garden, with trees and other plants all over. There are, for example, banana palms and pomegranates.
There is a small bar on the camping, open in the morning and on request. They offer coffee, tea, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and various kinds of snacks, such as hot croissants in the morning.
In the middle of the camping is a large communal tent with chairs and table, and a huge refrigerator which can be used free of charge.
Electricity for recharging mobile phones, cameras and other gadgets is available in the reception, in the communal tent and by the sinks near the toilets.
The sanitary services of the camping are basic but clean. Showers are free of charge, no coins or tokens are needed and no time limits. The toilets are squat toilets, but again, very clean. There’s a washing machine (with tokens), drying lines and by the sinks, detergent and sponges for washing the dishes.The camping rents bicycles for use on the Lido.

Tents, caravans, mobile homes
To stay in the camping you will have to bring your own camping gear, like tent and sleeping bag. It is possible to rent tents and sleeping bags at the camping, if you can’t bring your own.
The camping also has a few caravans available for rental. The have electricity, front tents, gas stoves and refrigerators. There are only a handful caravans, so they should be booked well in advance. Please let us know as soon as possible if you want to rent caravans.
You can also stay in the camping in your own caravan or in an autovan or mobile home. The Lido is an island, so to bring a vehicle you will have to take the Lido Ferry Boat from the Tronchetto in Venice.
How to find the Camping San Nicolò
The camping is at the end of the Riviera San Nicolò, close to the northern tip of the Lido di Venezia.
By foot
From the vaporetto stops at Lido S.M.E., follow the water front north for about 2km, past the ferry boat, the church of San Nicolò, the roundabout, and right at the camping sign.
By bus
ACTV bus lines A and B stops about 200m before the camping just after a small roundabout. Tickets can be bought at the vaporetto stop or on board the busses.
The line A takes the direct route from Lido S.M.E. to San Nicolò along the Riviera Santa Maria Elisabetta and the Riviera San Nicolò. Push the blue stop button after the bus has passed the church of San Nicolò.
The line B takes a longer route, from the Lido S.M.E. down the Gran Viale, the lungomare and along the beaches, after which it passes the airport and the church of San Nicolò, arriving from the back of the church along a small canal. Push the blue stop button after the bus has passed the church of San Nicolò.
From the bus stop, continue down the road, following the camping signs.
By car
From the landing of the Lido Ferry Boat, turn left for about 700m. Continue straight ahead at the roundabout and then right at the camping sign.
