Venice Kayak can’t organise accommodation for your stay in Venice, but we can give you some useful indications.
We use the Certosa island as our operation base and all trips will depart from there unless otherwise agreed.
Certosa Hotel ⭐⭐⭐
The Certosa Hotel is a small hotel located on the same island where Venice Kayak is based. It is the optimal place to stay if you’re in Venice for kayaking, especially if you’re doing an evening tour.
The hotel is modern and pleasant, with seven double rooms and eleven single rooms, at very competitive prices. Many rooms have great lagoon views.
On the ground floor is a bar and a restaurant, both with ample outdoor serving areas in the summer.

Venice House Boats
Venice House Boats rents small houseboats directly from the Certosa island where Venice Kayak is based.
The house boats on offer are fairly small, 8.9m × 3.2m, with two separate double cabins, kitchen and eating area convertible into two additional beds, shower and toilet on board, cooking facilities, and sun deck.
A skipper’s licence is not required to steer the boats.
Prices vary according to season, and availability is restricted to two boats, so if you want to stay on a house boat on the Certosa island, contact Venice House Boats as soon as you can.

Accomodation in Venice city
Alloggi Barbaria ⭐
Alloggi Barbaria is located in the city of Venice near the Fondamente Nove, and this is part of its charm; you don’t feel any of the mass tourist pressure here.
All of the simple but spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms have a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, direct-dial telephone, minibar, colour TV, air conditioning, independent heating, and safe. Many of the rooms have satellite TV as well.
Alloggi Barbaria is located near the “Ospedale” waterbus stop. The Certosa island is 15 minutes away by vaporetto number 4.2, which passes every 20 minutes.

Hotel Florida ⭐⭐
Hotel Florida is just a stone’s throw from the train station, in a quiet calle near the Lista de Spagna, and just a short walk from the bus terminal and parking facilities at Piazzale Roma.
The hotel has double, matrimonial, triple and quadruple rooms at reasonable prices. All the rooms (except one) have a private bathroom with shower, independently-adjustable air conditioning, heating, color TV, telephone with modem jack for your personal computer, free safe, Internet Point in the lobby with wireless access, bar service and fax service at the reception desk.
The vaporetti lines 4.1 and 4.2 which serves the Certosa island where Venice Kayak is based, both depart from the square in front of the station. The vaporetto takes about 45 minutes to reach the Certosa island.

Accommodation on the Lido di Venezia
Camping San Nicolò
The camp site at San Nicolò on the Lido di Venezia is the only camp site close to Venice city and the Certosa island. It is also by far the cheapest accommodation in Venice.
Though only 500m from Venice Kayak’s launch site on the Certosa island, getting from the camp site to the Certosa island takes about 30 minutes, by bus and then by two vaporettos.
